USC - Seaver Science Center Engineering Labs
Los Angeles, CA
This remodel was required due to the recruitment of three new principal investigators who would occupy most of the 5th floor for their advanced research. The types of research to be performed in the remodeled laboratories included: Photonics, Energy Harvesting & Generation, Next Generation logic components, Device technology of 2D materials, Novel circuit applications of 2D materials, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.
Due to the toxic nature of the chemicals used in this type of research, toxic gas monitoring and development of safety standards and protocols was an important feature of this project. Lundstrom & Associates led the engineering and construction team to the successful completion of highly efficient and safe research facilities for the Viterbi School of Engineering.
