USC - University Religious Center

Learning Environments

Los Angeles, CA

Lundstrom & Associates Architects provided a Feasibility Study and schematic design through construction phase services for this 14,200 S.F., two-story, mid-century modern facility. The University Religious Center was designed by the firm of Killingsworth Brady in 1973, and has been designated as a protected historical building. The renovation required a very high degree of aesthetic sensitivity to complete the upgrade with minimal effect to the historic fabric. An example of this is exemplified by the new steel frame located in the iconic two story glass “Fish Bowl” meeting room.
